Senior Correspondent: BNP has urged the government to strengthen diplomatic acumen on Rohingya issue so that Russia and China can not apply their veto power on the issue in the United Nations Security Council.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir came up with the call while replying to a query of journalists after distributing relief goods among Rohingya refugees in Ukhia upazila of Cox's Bazar on Wednesday.
“We have to put emphasis on strengthening diplomatic efforts on Rohingya issue so that Russia and China can not apply their veto power on the issue and everyday can stand beside these persecuted people,” Fakhrul said.
The BNP leader also called upon the government to take steps immediately in this regard so that the Rohingya people can return to their own country with citizenship and honour.
