Student demo causes sufferings to city commuters

Staff Correspondent: Student protest staged for killing Abarar Ahmed Chowdhury of BUP (Bangladesh University of Professionals) caused sufferings to commuters in Dhaka city as they blocked Progati Sarani.

All kinds of vehicles remain suspended on the route, causing sufferings to the commuters. People were seen to move towards workplace on foot.

However, additional police members have been deployed in the area.

Afrazur Rahman, one of the commuters, told risingbd that he was heading towards Malibag from Uttara. He started walking as students blocked the road.

“Though we are suffering due to the demonstration, we want safe road,” another commuter Abu Kausar said.
