Substandard c-section: HC orders compensation of Tk 3 lakh

Staff Correspondent: The High Court (HC) ordered the hospital owner to give Tk three lakh as compensation to the victim family over a faulty caesarean operation on a woman in Daudkandi of Comilla.

An HC bench of Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury and Justice AKM Zahirul Hoque passed the order on Sunday.

The court also ordered Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) to take action against Dr Sheikh Hosne Ara Begum who conducted the faulty caesarean section.

Earlier, the owner of the Hospital & Digital Diagnostic Centre of Gouripur and the concerned doctor appeared before the court this morning.

On October 29, the court summoned three people, including the civil surgeon of Comilla, to appear before it today on a suo moto order following a newspaper report.
