Supreme Court cancels Jasmine’s bail

Staff Correspondent: Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has cancelled the High Court bail given to Hallmark Group Chairman Jasmine Islam in a case over embezzling Janata Bank money.
The highest court has also ordered her to surrender to the lower court within next four weeks.
A bench headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain issued the order on Sunday.
Lawyers Mansurul Haque Chowdhury and Abdul Matin Khasru moved for Jasmine while lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan moved for Anti-Corruption (ACC) at the courtroom.
The case was filed over embezzling Tk 85,87,33,000 from Janata Bank by issuing fake L/C (letter of credit).
