Suspected militant den cordoned off in Narsingdi

Narsingdi Correspondent: Law enforcers cordoned off a house at Chinishpur union in Sadar upazila from on Saturday afternoon suspecting the building as militant hideouts.

Sources said that a team of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-11 and police cordoned off the house around 4:00pm. The house is owned by Libia expatriate Moin Uddin. Couple of months ago, the suspected militants rented the house through a caretaker.

Lt Col Kamrul Hasan, commanding officer of RAB-11 said that more top officials are coming to visit the spot. Decision on drive will be taken after discussing with the top officials. 

At least five to six suspected militants may hole up inside the house, said the RAB official, adding, “We are repeatedly requesting them to surrender.”

Narsingdi police super Amena Begum said, "RAB personnel started the drive. We are keeping communication with them. Police forces are also deployed in the area."
