Sylhet police detain 6 BNP activists including Shahriar

Staff Correspondent, Sylhet:  Police has picked up six leaders and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its front organisations including BNP central executive member Shahriar Hossain Chowdhury.

BNP district General Secretary Ali Ahmad  alleged that they were arrested from a meeting on Tuesday night.

The district BNP general secretary, also local coordinator of the newly formed political alliance Jatiya Oikya Front, informed that a huge contingent of police cordoned off the city’s Zatarpur residence of Abul Kaher at around 8:30pm and picked up six party leaders and activists ahead of the opposition Front’s first public rally in the city scheduled for today.
