TCB ready for open market sale during Ramadan

Shayekh Hasan: The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) is set to intervene in the kitchen market with adequate stock of essential commodities aiming to keep their prices within the commoners' reach during the month of holy Ramadan.

Ramadan will start on May 27. And the TCB will start marketing from May 15. 

These essentials, demand for which reaches peak during Ramadan, are edible oil, sugar, lentil, gram and dates.

According to the Commerce Ministry, a total 184 trucks will be used in the sales across the country - 33 trucks in Dhaka, 10 in Chittagong, five in other divisional cities and two in district towns.

Every year, TCB puts up the sale to keep the prices of essential commodities steady during Ramadan. Like previous years, 2,811 distributors will take part in the sale.
