Take steps to make city habitable: HC

Staff Correspondent: The High Court has expressed its dissatisfaction with Dhaka City Corporations for failing to stop air pollution properly in the capital.

Aiming the chief executive officers of the two Dhaka City Corporations (DNCC and DSCC), the court said take steps to make the city habitable.

The HC bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader passed the order on Wednesday.

The court also directed the two CEOs of city corporations to submit progress report within 26 June in this regard.

Advocate Manjil Morshed moved for the writ petitioner while deputy attorney general ABM Abdullah Al Mahmud Bashar stood for the state during the hearing.

Dhaka North City Corporation Chief Executive Officer Md Abdul Hye and Dhaka South City Corporation CEO Mostafizur Rahman appeared before the court to explain their steps against air pollution today. But, their explanation could not satisfy the court.
