Sports Desk: Opener Tamim Iqbal will miss the second Test against South Africa beginning on October 6 following his thigh muscle injury.
It has been learned that the injury of Tamim is in grade one level. Generally, such type of injury takes minimum 4 months to become fit. However, there is a chance that the batsman will be fit for the ODI series beginning on October 15.
Soumya Sarkar is likely to replace him as opener in the upcoming second Test. Soumya could not play in the first Test match due to his injury. Besides, Imrul Kayes also got a scope in the second Test squad following Tamim's injury.
Tamim Iqbal played the first Test in Potchefstroom, scoring 39 and 0 in Bangladesh's 333-run defeat.
