Tarana dismisses midnight bar on Facebook

Staff Correspondent: State Minister for Post and Telecommunications Tarana Halim has ruled out the decision of blocking Facebook, the largest and popular social network, for six hours at midnight.

She said, "The government has not taken any decision to block Facebook for any certain time."

The Minister came up with the clarification at a press conference at Bangladesh Secretariat on Tuesday.

“This government has shown people how to use social media including Facebook. So it will not take such moves which will bar the way of digitisation,” she said.
