Secretariat Correspondent: Teachers and students of all educational institutions of the country have mandatorily been asked to attend the programmes of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth anniversary and National Children’s Day on March 17.

The decision has been taken in line with a proposal submitted by the Women and Children's Affairs Ministry in this regard, according to a reliable source of the Cabinet Division.

It has been understood that the Ministry of Women and Children’s Affairs sent a letter to the Cabinet Division to implement the matter. Later, on March 7, the Cabinet Division issued directives to all the Divisional and Deputy Commissioners to ensure the attendance of all teachers and students to the programmes on March 17 mandatorily.

It may be mentioned that Bangabandhu’s 98th birth anniversary and National Children's Day are set to observe on March 17 across the country.
