'Telecommunication at Rohingya camps within 3 days'

Staff Correspondent: State Minister for Post and Telecommunications Tarana Halim said telecommunication system will be launched at Rohingya camps within three days.

She said,"Teletalk 2-G network will be launched at Rohingya refugee camps within next three days. The work has already been started in this regard."

The State Minister said this in a media briefing at the auditorium room of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) on Saturday.

"At least 16/17 Teletalk booths are being opened at Rohingya refugee camps.  Rohingya people can make phone call in the booths at a minimum charge," She said.

She said operation would be driven to trace out people who are selling SIMs illegally to the Rohingyas. They must be brought under law and have to face punishment."
