Staff Correspondent: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said the motive behind the attack on a motorcade of BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will be known after investigation.

"Police are investigating the matter and the motive behind the attack and those who are involved in it will be known after investigation. No one will be spared in this connection," Kamal said.

The minister said this while talking to reporters after attending the signing ceremony of Annual Performance Agreement of Security Services Division under the Home Ministry on Monday.

Earlier on Sunday, Fakhrul and some other party senior leaders were injured as local Awami League supporters allegedly attacked his motorcade at Isakhali in Rangunia upazila of Chittagong on their way to hillslides-ravaged Rangamati.

Replying to a query about politics over hillslides, the Kamal said, "Hillslide is a natural disaster... I’ve no idea whether one can get involved in doing politics over such an issue."

Farid Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury, secretary of the Security Service Division under the home ministry, was present at the signing ceremony among others.
