Those who spread rumors are being arrested: Minister

Staff Correspondent: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said those who spread rumors through Facebook are being arrested only. No innocent are being arrested.

The minister made the opinion while replying to a query from reporters after addressing the triennial conference of Bangladesh Chhatra Juba Oikya Parishad at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) auditorium in the city on Friday.

He said, "Don't pay heed to any rumors. Check the information by yourself and then try to speak on that issue."

"Actress Nawshaba spread rumors on Facebook that four people were killed. There is an evidence of that rumor. Such rumor incidents can be taken place again to confuse the nation," he said.

Intelligence agencies are investigating in these cases, the minister added.
