Three city polls are very crucial: CEC

Staff Correspondent: "Holding elections to three city corporations (Rajshahi, Sylhet and Barisal) before the upcoming 11th national parliamentary election are very important," said Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda.

The CEC came up with the statement at a meeting held with the law enforcement agencies over the elections to three city corporations at the Election Bhaban in the capital's Agargaon on Thursday.

"We will go into a process of announcing schedule for the 11th national parliamentary election within two months from now. So, the elections to these three city corporations are very crucial to all," Huda said.

The elections to the three city corporations are scheduled to be held on July 30 as per the schedule announced by the Election Commission earlier.
