Three get life-term in murder case

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka tribunal has sentenced three people to life-term imprisonment for killing a man at the capital's Kadamtoli area in 2010.

The deceased Humayun Kabir Tito was killed  over previous enmity.

Judge Abdur Rhaman Sardar of Dhaka's Speedy Trial Tribunal-4 passed the order on Monday.

The convicts are Sohag alias Boro Sohag, Mamun Sheikh and Robin Sheikh. They all are on run.

The court also fined them Tk 20, 000 each. In default, they have to suffer a year more in jail.

The court also acquitted Monir Hossain, Rubel and Mohammad Hossain alias Sumon as charges brought against them could not be proved.

According to case statement, Tito was shot while he was returning home at the noon on November 26, 2010. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where he succumbed.

Later, deceased's wife filed a murder case with Kadamtoli Police Station.
