Three held with fake currency in capital

Senior Correspondent: A special team of Detective Branch (North Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested three people along with fake Bangladeshi currency worth Tk 20 lakh and 300 grams of heroin from Paltan area of the city on Thursday.

The arrestees are Shahabuddin Shikder, Mehedi Hasan alias Babu alias Lawrence, and Sohel Mia.

Based on secret information, a special team of Detective Branch (North Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a drive in front of Hotel Bakshi around 4:00pm on Friday, according to DMP media wing.

During the drive, the detectives detained the trio and recovered the fake currency and heroin searching their bodies, he said.

Two cases were filed with Paltan Police Station in this regard.
