Three killed in Jamalpur road crash

Jamalpur Correspondent: Three people were killed and three others injured when a truck plunged into a roadside ditch on Tarakandi-Bhuapur road under Sarishabari upazila of the district on Friday morning.

The deceased were identified as - Najir, 50, son of Fiyez Sheikh of Patierpara village, Abdul Barik, 49, son of Abdul Gafur and Riazuddin Nimai, son of Umar Sardar of Sanchierpara village in the upazila.

Zouhar Hossain, inspector of Tarakandi police camp, said Sarishabari-bound jute-laden truck plunged into a roadside ditch in the area, leaving three dead on the spot and three others injured. Police suspected that the truck driver fell asleep during driving. 

Truck driver Anisur Rahman fled the scene after the accident.

Sarishabari police station Officer-in-Charge Rezaul Islam Khan confirmed the matter.
