Three militants get 14yrs in jail

Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: A court in Chittagong has sentenced three members of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) to 14 years imprisonment in two separate cases filed for bombing.

Chittagong additional chief metropolitan magistrate Shahadat Hossain Bhuiyan passed the order on Tuesday noon.

The three convicts are- Jabed Iqbal alias Mohammad, Shahadat Ali alias Masud Billah and Jahidul Islam Sumon.

Nirmolendu Prokash, additional deputy commissioner of Chittagong metropolitan police, told risingbd.com that on October 3, 2005, the convict militants threw bombs on the court of second joint district judge when trail was on.
