'Tight security ahead of Pahela Baishakh'

Staff Correspondent: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Asaduzzaman Miah said that the authority will take special security measures so that people can celebrate Pahela Baishakh peacefully.

The DMP commissioner made the opinion while addressing a meeting over security issue ahead of Pahela Baishakh on Sunday.

He said that all types of security measures will be taken to ensure foolproof security during Pahela Baishakh celebration.

Asaduzzaman Miah also said huge number of people gather at Ramna Park to join Mangal Shobhajatra that’s why DMP will open control room there. The whole area will be monitored using CCTV cameras.

The visitors have to pass metal detector and archway to get entry into the programme venue, he added.
