Tk 1cr compensation sought over schoolgirl's death

Staff Correspondent: A writ petition was filed with the High Court seeking its directive on the government to compensate Tk 1 crore to the family of school girl who died as ceiling of a government school building fell on her in Taltoli of Barguna.

Barrister Humayun Kabir Pallab submitted the petition on Sunday.

The petition also sought Tk 10 lakh to each of the nine students who were injured in the incident took place at Sotobogi PK Government Primary School in Taltali upazila.

The hearing would be held at the HC court of Justice Sheikh Hasan Arif.

Earlier on Saturday, Mansura, a student of class three died in her classroom as chunks of ceiling plaster fell on her. Meanwhile, nine more students were injured in the incident.
