Tk 315cr budget for Parliament approved

Staff Correspondent: An estimated Tk 314.91 crore budget has been approved for National Parliament to spend for its development and non-development expenditures for the 2017-18 fiscal year.

The approval was given at the 28th meeting of the Parliament Secretariat Commission at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Wednesday with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.

Of the total budget, Tk 298.49 crore will be spent for the development sector while Tk 16.42 crore will be used for the non-development sector.

The meeting also approved the projected budgets for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 fiscal years. It also approved the revised budget of the outgoing fiscal year 2016-17.

Members of the Commission Prime Minister and Leader of the House Sheikh Hasina, Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Law Minister Anisul Huq and Jatiya Party Lawmaker Nurul Islam Milon were present at the meeting.
