Tobacco kills 1 lakh a year

Secretariat Correspondent: Around one lakh people die from incurable diseases including lung cancer and stroke and 3.82 lakh people get crippled every year in Bangladesh due to use of tobacco.

Zahid Malek, state minister for health and family welfare ministry, provided the information while inaugurating a 30-second TV spot campaign that highlights indirect harms caused by tobacco use in the secretariat on Thursday.
