Tongi prison van ‘attacker’ on 5-day remand

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: Mostafa Kamal, the suspected attacker on a prison van carrying Huji chief Mufti Hannan and some of his associates, has been put on a five-day remand.
Judge of Gazipur Judicial Magistrate Court-4 Mahbuba Akther granted the order on Tuesday after police produced Mostafa before the court seeking a 10-day remand.
Police on Monday night filed a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act against Mostafa, 22, hailing from Pagli village under Tarakanda upazila of Mymensingh, and 4-5 others.
Two crude bombs were hurled at the prison van carrying Mufti Hannan, chief of the banned militant outfit Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami (Huji), and his aides when they were being taken to Kashimpur jail from a Dhaka court.
