Transport service resumes

Staff Correspondent: The vehicular movement has been resumed across the country ending the ongoing stalemate in the transport sector on Wednesday.

Following the call of Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan, the transport owners and workers started their transport services.

Dhaka District Vehicle Workers Union president Abbas Uddin told risingbd.com, "We don't want people's suffering. That’s why the transport service has been resumed."

Earlier, Dhaka Metropolitan Police urged transport workers in Gabtli bus terminal to start their vehicles.

Besides, additional police forces were deployed in the bus terminal to avert any untoward situations.

The local reporters confirmed that the transport services in Khulna, Chittagong, Sylhet, Rangpur, Barisal, Comilla, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Natore have been restored.
