Tri-nation series: Ireland set 293-run target for Bangladesh

Sports Correspondent: Hosts Ireland set a 293-run target for Bangladesh by losing eight wickets in the last group match of the tri-series tournament at the Clontarf Cricket Club Ground in Dublin on Wednesday.

Earlier, Ireland won the toss and elected to bat first.

Paul Stirling’s eighth ODI century off 141 balls and William Porterfield’s 94 runs off 106 balls helped their side score 292 runs.

Abu Jayed Rahi bagged 5 wickets in his second ODI match while Mohammad Saifuddin took two wickets and Rubel Hossain picked up one wicket.

Bangladesh have rested Soumya Sarkar, Mohammad Mithun, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mustafizur Rahman, and have brought in Liton Das to open with Tamim Iqbal, as well as Mosaddek Hossain, Mohammad Saifuddin and Rubel Hossain. Saifuddin returns from a back spasm he sustained before Bangladesh's previous match.
