Trial in Hossaini Dalan blast case begins

Staff Correspondent: A court in Dhaka has framed charges against 10 people in a case filed in connection with bomb explosions in front of Hossaini Dalan in old Dhaka in 2015.

Trial has formally begun against the accused through the charge framing in the case.

Metropolitan Sessions Judge Kamrul Hossain Mollah passed the order on Wednesday after rejecting petitions filed by the accused.

Judge Kamrul Hossain Mollah transferred the case to the 8th Additional District and Sessions Judge's Court, Dhaka and fixed June 15 for taking testimony.

A gang of militant carried out the bomb blasts in front of Hossaini Dalan around 1:30am on October 23, 2015 when Shia community people were gathering at the building to bring out traditional Tajia procession marking the holy Ashura.

Two persons were killed and over 100 others were injured in the homemade bomb blasts.
