Truck kills 2 motorcycle riders in capital

Staff Correspondent: Two motorcycle riders were killed and another was injured as a truck hit their motorbike at the capital's Chankharpul intersection on Tuesday midnight.

The deceased were identified as Sani, 20, and Akash, 25.

However, the injured could not be identified immediately.

Bachchu Mia, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital's (DMCH) police outpost, said a truck from Mayor Hanif Flyover hit the motorbike from Dhaka University (DU) area at Chankharpul intersection on Tuesday midnight, leaving the three riders critically injured.

Locals immediately rushed them to DMCH where duty doctors declared the two dead, he added.

The truck driver was held and taken to Chakbazar Police Station, the SI said.
