International Desk: Details of a lurid "rumour" claiming Donald Trump has a love child with his former housekeeper have been revealed after a contract preventing its publication emerged last night.

Trump's former doorman, named as Dino Sajudin, claimed he was paid £21,000 by American Media Inc (AMI), which owns the National Enquirer, to keep quiet about the "rumour".

The document, obtained exclusively by CNN, appears to have been signed on November 15, 2015, and states that they have exclusive rights to his story.

It reveals few other details but does state: "Source shall provide AMI with information regarding Donald Trump's illegitimate child..."

Details of the payment to Sajudin emerged in April for the first time after an investigation by the AP news agency.

The doorman allegedly got the sum after he had heard about Trump fathering an illegitimate child with an employee at Trump World Tower, in Manhattan.

His 2015 contract subjected him to $1million (£700,000) penalty if he disclosed either the rumour or the terms of the deal to anyone.

The National Enquirer says it spent four weeks trying to back up Sajudin’s claims, but ultimately found it “lacked any credibility”.

But the company only released Sajudin from his contract after the 2016 election.

His lawyer, Marc Held, told CNN: "Mr Sajudin has been unable to discuss the circumstances regarding his deal with American Media Inc. and the story that he sold to them, due to a significant financial penalty.

"Just recently, AMI released Mr Sajudin from the terms of his agreement and he is now able to speak about his personal experience with them, as well as his story, which is now known to be one of the 'catch and kill' pieces.

"Mr Sajudin hopes the truth will come out in the very near future."

It comes after AMI's publisher, David Pecker - a Trump supporter - was granted immunity in an investigation involving the president's ex-lawyer Michael Cohen.

Earlier this week, Cohen admitted paying hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels and ex-Playboy model Karen McDougal, both alleged to have had affairs with Mr Trump.
