Turkey to build shelters for 1 lakh Rohingyas

Senior Correspondent: The Turkey government will build shelters for one hundred thousand Rohingya refugees.

Ahmed Rafique, Coordinator of Turkey's International Relations and Cooperation made the disclosure while addressing a meeting with Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya in the capital on Sunday noon.

Ahmed Rafique said, "Turkey will stand beside Bangladesh over Rohingya issue. And the support will continue until the problem is resolved. Besides, the ongoing relief efforts will continue."

The Turkish representative also expected assistance from the minister to fix a location to build shelter centers for one lakh Rohingyas.

Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya said there was an overall discussion on all bilateral issues side by side Rohingya issue.

"Turkey proposed to build shelter centers for one lakh Rohingyas. Some 10,000 packets made of 13 items will be given for Rohingyas soon," he added.
