Two RU BCL leaders expelled

RU Correspondent: Two leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Rajshahi University (RU) unit have been expelled for beating up the university correspondent of The Daily Star.

A press release signed by central BCL president Saifur Rahman Sohag and general secretary SM Zakir Hossain revealed the news on Monday night.

According to the press release, Mahmudur Rahman Kanon, secretary for information and research affairs of RU unit, and Saiful Islam Bijoy, secretary of legal affairs, were expelled for breaching party disciplines.

It may be mentioned that BCL leaders and activists were vandalising buses at the main gate of the university around 11:00am on Monday. They attacked on The Daily Star's correspondent Arafat Rahman while he went there to capture the incident. Later, he was rushed to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital in injured.
