Two brothers killed in Gopalganj road crash

Gopalganj Correspondent: Two brothers were killed as a private car plunged into roadside ditch in Sharifpara of Gopinathpur under Sadar upazila of the district on Tuesday morning.

The deceased were identified as SM Arafat Hasan Prince, 35, senior principal officer of Rupali Bank in Dhaka, and his elder brother Shimul Sardar, 40, hailed from Mulghar village of Fakirhat upazila in Bagerhat district.

The accident took place around 7:30am on Tuesday.



Mahfuzur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Faridpur Bhanga highway police station said, the victims were heading towards their native village to celebrate Eid vacation from Dhaka riding a private car. Meanwhile, Pirojpur-bound a passenger hit the car and the car plunged into a roadside ditch, leaving the two dead on the spot and injured another one.

Later, on information, fire service rescuers and locals rushed to the spot and recovered the victims and sent them to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital.
