Two die as truck falls into ditch in Ashulia

Staff Correspondent: At least two people were killed when a brick-laden truck fell into Turag River in Ashulia, on the outskirts of Dhaka, on Tuesday morning.

The deceased were known as Truck driver Mujahid and his helper Shahin, hailed from Ghagra village under Jhinaigati Thana of Sherpur.

Ashulia police station OC Riazul Haque Dipu said that the accident took place when its driver lost control over the steering around 7:30am. Meanwhile, the truck went under water.

On information, two units of Uttara Fire Service and Civil Defense along with a team of divers started rescue operation. However, two people are still missing.
