Two drug traders killed in Teknaf gunfight

Cox’s Correspondent: Two suspected drug traders were killed in a gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Keruntoli area under Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday.

Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

RAB-7 Company commander Major Mehedi Hasan said RAB set up a regular check-post on Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf road in the area on Tuesday morning. Meanwhile, a truck tried to flee the scene violating RAB signal and opened fire aiming RAB personnel. In reply, RAB also opened fire which triggered the gunfight, leaving two people bullet injured.

Later, the injured were sent to Teknaf Health Complex where duty doctors declared them dead.

One lakh pieces of Yaba tablets, two fire arms and eight of bullets were recovered from the truck.
