Two killed in Meherpur gunfight

Meherpur Correspondent: Two suspected criminals were killed and injured four policemen in a ‘gunfight’ at Gangni upazila in Meherpur early Friday.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Sources said that miscreants opened fire on a patrol police team in Hariadaho village under Raipur union of the village around 3:00am, triggering a gunfight with the police that left two people bullet injured.

Later, the injured were sent to the upazila health complex where duty doctor declared the two people dead.

Confirming the matter, Gangni police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Anwar Hossain said that police recovered a LG shutter gun, two rounds bullets, two bombs and two lethal weapon from the spot.
