Two terrorists killed in N’ganj shootout

Staff Correspondent, Narayanganj: Two terrorists were killed in an alleged gunfight with police in Fatullah of Narayanganj on Wednesday evening.

The deceased were identified as Moktar alias ‘Killer Moktar' and his associate Manik.

Sub-Inspector Abdul Aziz received bullet injury during the shootout and was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), police said.

Narayanganj additional police super Mostafizur Rahman said on a tip-off, police conducted a drive at Pagla's Shahibazar in Fatullah area of Narayanganj around 7:30pm about Moktar's whereabouts.

Moktar and Manik opened fire at police at the time and SI Aziz got shot in the leg, he said.

In retaliation, police fired back that left the duo killed, he said.

He also said a pistol, a revolver, and seven rounds of bullet were recovered from the spot.

Moktar had at least five cases against him over murders and robberies while Manik had three, he added.

The police super said the bodies were sent to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
