Two militants killed in Sylhet raid

Staff Correspondent: Two suspected militants were killed in a militant den Atia Mahal at Shibbari of South Surma upazila in Sylhet.

Bangladesh Army in a press conference made the disclosure on Sunday afternoon.

Brigadier General Fakhrul Ahsan said, "We hurled tear shell after firing rocket launcher into the house. The situation has become tough for them to stay inside of the residence."

The raid is still underway in the militant den and will be continued as more militants are alive there, he said.

Two militants were killed in the building but details can be said right now, he added.

Fakhrul Ahsan also said, "Our prime target was to rescue the dwellers of the building. We successfully did that. Now our aim is to curb militancy keeping safe ourselves."

"These militants are well trained. They know how to face grenade attack, tear shells. The law enforcers threw grenade bombs towards militants but they returned the bombs towards commandos."
