Two robbers killed in Barguna gunfight

Barguna Correspondent: Two robbers were robbers were shot dead during a gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Majher Char area under Patharghata upazila of the district on Monday.

The gunfight took place around 6:00am.

Hasan Imon Al Rajib, wing commander of Barisal RAB-8 said acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-8 conducted drive in the area. Sensing the presence of RAB, robbers opened fire which triggered the gunfight.

"After the gunfight, search operation is underway in the area. Two bodies and huge amount of arms ammunitions were recovered from the spot," he said.

The two robbers were wanted in several cases, he added.
