UN praises Bangladesh's peacekeeping role

Secretariat Correspondent: United Nations’ military advisor Lt Gen Carlos Humberto Loitey on Tuesday praised the outstanding contribution of Bangladesh to the field of peacekeeping.

The UN military adviser extended the appreciation to Public Administration’s Senior Secretary Md Mozammel Haque Khan in a meeting at New York, says a press release of Bangladesh’s permanent mission to the UN.

Lt Gen Loitey congratulated Bangladesh on ranking second in peacekeeping contribution and hoped that the trend will continue in the future.

Secretary Mozammel Haque Khan assured of continuing Bangladeshi efforts towards peacekeeping and urged to ensure security of the Bangladeshi peacekeeping forces.

The senior secretary invited UN military adviser Carlos Humberto Loitey to pay a visit to Bangladesh and later handed over an invitation letter to him.
