‘Underwater tunnel to be built under Buriganga River’

Senior Correspondent: With an aim to ease the suffering of commuters on each side of the Buriganga River, an underwater tunnel will be built under the river, said Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan on Wednesday.

Shahjahan made the disclosure in a meeting with the officials of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) at the terminal Bhaban of Sadarghat in the capital on Wednesday.

The minister also directed the BIWTA to take the necessary steps regarding the matter.
