Varun survives a fire scare at awards ceremony

Entertainment Desk: It was a close shave for Varun Dhawan at the recently held film awards night. The actor who was performing on stage escaped from a fire accident, which could have been quite fatal.

The actor’s jacket caught fire as he was dancing on hit tracks like Jee Karda (Badlapur), Main Tera Hero (Main Tera Hero) and the title track of his upcoming film, Badrinath Ki Dulhania. His co-star Alia Bhatt was also dancing with him. An onlooker informs, “ Varun’s act started at 3 am. It was a highly energetic performance and his guitar suddenly burst mid- act.” It seems flames erupted and his jacket caught fire.

A few sparks also flew in Rekhaji’s direction. “Though there was a fire extinguisher close by, Varun continued dancing so as to avoid disrupting the show. Luckily, it wasn’t anything major,” he adds. Varun’s spokesperson confirmed the news adding that Varun escaped the accident unscathed.

This is not the first time the actor has been involved in an accident. In October, news floated out that his car dashed someone at Juhu. However, the actor was quick to clarify on that. He tweeted, “The car that is damaged is my car. I had come to help someone in my family, who had an accident. I suggest you shut up. For everyone asking, everyone in my family is fine and no one is injured. Thank you.” It was not the actor but his mom who was in the car.

In 2014, the actors were in Ahmedabad travelling from the airport to a destination to promote their film. It so happened that a car belonging to JN Parmar, assistant commissioner of police, Ahmedabad hit their vehicle. Luckily, no one was hurt in the mishap. It seems the glass was completely shattered and it was very scary. The two actors made a quick exit from the car.

Varun also met with an accident on the sets of Dishoom in Abu Dhabi. He had to jump over a car and injured himself. This recent incident proves that he is quite accident prone. We hope the actor stays safe always.
