Vegetable prices fall as supply increases

Staff Correspondent: Prices of vegetables have slightly decreased over the past one week in the kitchen markets around the capital.

The average price of vegetable fell about Tk5 to Tk10 due to the fresh supply.

Most of the vegetable items are selling at a lower price compared to recent weeks. Brinjal was selling at Tk 50 per kg while it was sold Tk 55 per kg one week ago.

The price of Cucumber is Tk 40. Tomato is selling at Tk 80 to Tk 90. Lady’s finger is selling at Tk 40.

Visiting different kitchen markets including Jigatola, New-market, Rayerbazar this correspondent witnessed that the price of most of the vegetable reduced than last week.

However, the price of Chicken (broiler) was unchanged. Chicken (broiler) was selling at Tk 160 per kg while chicken (local) Tk 210.
