Voting ends, counting begins in Baghaichhari

Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: The counting of votes in Baghaichhari municipality in Rangamati has begun after voting had ended peacefully.

The voting began at 8:00am and continues till 4:00pm across the municipality.

No irregularities and sporadic violence was reported during the polls.

The election has become the centre of interest across the country as it was the first polls under the new Election Commission (EC).

Awami League (AL) candidate Md Zafor Ali, BNP candidate Omar Ali and independent candidate Azizur Rahman are contesting in mayoral race in the election.
