Voting in 5 Gopalganj upazilas deferred for 6 days

Staff Correspondent: The Election Commission (EC) has directed to hold polls in all the five upazilas in Gopalganj on March 24, deferring the voting day for six days of the schedule.

According to schedule announced for the fifth upazila polls in second phase, voting was supposed to be held on March 18.

EC Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed said that voting on third phase upazila polls will be held on March 24.

EC sources on Tuesday said, “Letters on directing suspension of polls in five Gopalganj upazilas have already been sent to returning officers concerned.”
