WB must reply over Padma Bridge scam: Obaidul

Staff Correspondent: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said, "The World Bank dishonoured us. Why they did so? They have to reply over Padma Bridge scam issue."

The Minister made the opinion while addressing media after a seminar at Shahbagh in the capital on Wednesday afternoon.

He said the Bangladesh government is continuing Padma Bridge project by own financing after the World Bank moved aside on the allegation of corruption.

The Minister also said, "We are not thieves, we are a nation of heroes. World Bank have to reply over Padma Bridge. Why they dishonoured Bangladesh?"

Padma Bridge is not only a bridge but also a pride now, he added.
