Secretariat Correspondent: The “World Summit on Information Society (WSIS)” award which Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina won for innovative initiatives of Access to Information (a2i) Programme at a summit in Geneva on June 13 has been handed over to her on Monday.
The award was handed over to the prime minister at a cabinet meeting in the Sangsad Bhaban.
Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam told this at a briefing after the meeting.
Kabir Bin Anwar, Director General, (Admin), Prime Minister’s Office and Project Director of the a2i Programme received the prize on June 13 at the headquarters of the International Telecommunication Union in Geneva, the cabinet secretary told the briefing.
PM's Principal Secretary Md Abul Kalam Azad, Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam and Kabir Bin Anwar, Director General, (Admin), Prime Minister’s Office, handed over the award to the Prime Minister at the cabinet meeting.
