Wages, allowances for workers before 20 Ramadan demanded

Staff Correspondent: Leaders of garment sromik front have demanded salaries, allowances and overtime payment of readymade garment workers within Ramadan 20.

The workers organization made the demand from a programme in front of National Press Club on Friday.

The leaders said garment owners pay the workers at the eleventh hours of Eid every year. As the workers cannot get enough time to visit home, they cannot celebrate Eid with their near and dear ones. So, salary and bonus should be paid within Ramadan 20.

Ahsan Habib Bulbul, central committee president of Garment Sromik Front, presided over the programme where general secretary Selim Mahmud, vice-president Khalekuzzaman Lipon, joint secretary Jahangir Alam Golok, organizing secretary Soumitra Kumar Das and others spoke in the function.
