Wahhab Miah to continue to act as CJ: Law Minister

Staff Correspondent: Law minister Anisul Huq on Saturday said that according to the constitution, acting chief justice Md Abdul Wahhab Miah will continue as long as a new Chief Justice is appointed.

The law minister made the opinion while addressing reporters at his Gulshan residence in the capital this afternoon.

He said, “Abdul Wahhab Miah is still acting as the Chief Justice and will continue until the President appoints a new Chief Justice as per article 97.”

Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, now abroad, stepped down. Resignation letter of Surendra Kumar Sinha reached Bangabhaban.
