Walton Central Zone post 181 in first innings

Sport Desk: Batting collapse left Walton Central Zone to post only 181 runs in the first innings against BCB North Zone in the fifth round of the fifth season of Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL), the country's franchise based first class cricket tournament.

Wining toss at Sylhet Divisional Stadium in Sylhet on Sunday morning, BCB North Zone asked Walton to bat first. The defending champions scored 181 all out in 63.5 overs.
 



Opener Saif Hasan scored highest 63 runs with 8 fours and 1 six. Besides, Taiabur Parvez added unbeaten 40.

BCB's Sanjamul Islam claimed 5 wickets for 45 while Forhad Reza took 3 wickets more.

In reply, BCB scored 63 for 3 wickets at stumps on Day 1. They are still trailing by 118 runs with 7 wickets remaining in the first innings.
 



Walton have thrashed Islami Bank East Zone in the last match to return back to the competition after they were defeated in the first two of the previous three matches. The other match was a draw for which the defending champions have 9 points.
