Walton founding Chairman SM Nazrul Islam dies

Staff Correspondent: SM Nazrul Islam, founding chairman of the country's leading electrical, electronics and home appliances manufacturing and marketing company Walton group, has died at 93.

He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the capital's Apollo Hospital around 9:40pm on Sunday.

The first Namaz-e-Janaza of the departed pioneer of the country's electrical and electronics production industry will be held at the corporate office of Walton Group at Bashundhara residential area (Plot-1088, Road-80 ft-2, Block-I Bashundhara R/A) in the capital at 10:00am on Monday.

The second Namaz-e-Janaza will be performed at Walton Factory at Chandra in Gazipur at 11:30am.

He will be laid to eternal rest at family graveyard of Tangail's Gosaijoair after third Namaz-e-Janaza following Asr prayer on Monday.

Walton Group and Risingbd family expressed deep shock at the departure of Walton Group's chairman SM Nazrul Islam.

Meanwhile in a message, general holiday has been announced for Walton Group on Monday over the departure of its founding chairman.
